Documents Required for Court Marriage

In a court marriage, the bride must be at least 16 years of age and the groom must be at least 18 years of age as per the provisions of Child Marriage Restraint Act, 1929.

There are certain documents required by the lawyer for conducting a court marriage legally. These documents include the Identity card of the groom and bride. If the bride is under the age of 18 years then any other document for age verification can be used. Preferably the detailed mark sheet of matriculation exam is of important value.

Pictures of the bride and groom are required. Personal appearance of both is required for the marriage. Thumb impressions and signatures of both are required on certain documents.
