No property inherited no liability to pay debt

When no property inherited, no debt can be recovered from heirs. Deceased left no property, heirs are not liable pay debt. 1997 CLC 152.

Defence: denial may be pleaded as defence. Family settlement may also, be pleaded as defence. NLR 2004 SCJ 843.
