 ....S.193 read with Criminal Procedure Code, 1898, Section 476 - Perjury-offence of--Conviction for-Appeal against-Appellant, a police constable was convicted for perjury by Additional Sessions Judge without recording evidence and observing procedure under Section 263 Cr.PC, and appellant was also not provided opportunity in terms of Section 342 Cr.PC, to explain his position - Even otherwise appellant had supported case of prosecution materially-Held: Court should ignore such inadvertent slips - Appeal allowed.'
