In recent times RTI legislation has been made in Pakistan to a good extent. In the year 2011 18th Amendment has been passed according to which RTI has been made a fundamental right of all citizens of Pakistan. Article 19-A of the constitution of Islamic Republic of Pakistan describes what is Right to Information and it is a fundamental right.
RTI legislation is in the developing phase in Pakistan at the moment. Recently two provinces have enacted their legislations related with Right to Information. At the moment they are in the initial stages. Public sector organizations are making awareness regarding this concept among people and hopefully in coming times Right to Information may make Pakistan free from corruption to a greater extent...
