Compromise in a compoundable offense tends to conviction

A compoundable offence is the one in which if the victim or his/her legal heirs pardon the accused, the accused can be set free. However, legally speaking the accused becomes a convict in result of that compounding by the victim or his/her legal heirs.

For example in case of murder if the legal heirs of victim compound the accused by compromising with that person, he/she will be set free by the court of law but on papers that accused will be a convict. It will be considered that the accused has committed the crime but the victims or his/her legal heirs have pardoned that person.

Usually people dont care about conviction. The reason is that they wish to get rid of difficult circumstances they face once they are involved in a criminal case. They give money or property and enter into compromise by all possible means to get rid of the case. However, that approach is not good especially for those which are not involved in the offense themselves.
